About this piece
Theotokos Eleusa. This icon depicts the Most Holy Theotokos standing full-length, holding the Christ Child in her arm, revealing her tender love, her humility, and her compassionate intercession for all who call upon her. Portrayed gesturing toward her Son, the Mother of God is shown as the one who leads the faithful to Christ and shares in the joy and sorrow of His people. This holy image reveals the closeness of heaven and earth, the Virgin who bore the Savior and ever pleads for mercy on our behalf. It stands as a sacred proclamation of tenderness, mercy, humility, and salvation, calling the faithful to repentance, trust, obedience, faith, and unwavering confidence in God. This sacred image invites contemplation, prayer, veneration, and spiritual connection.
This Theotokos Eleusa icon is heat-adhered onto solid MDF wood and sealed with a durable black thermofilm laminate that wraps and seals the edges, resulting in a rich, clean finish. Each piece features a 45-degree routed edge on all four sides, giving it a refined, finished look. Available in one size: 15 x 20 cm (6" x 8"), with a uniform thickness of 3/4" (2 cm).
Since these icons are produced using a heat-press lamination process, subtle variations in border symmetry may occur—for example, one edge may appear marginally thicker than the opposite side. This is a normal characteristic of the thermolaminate process and does not affect the quality of the image or the structural integrity of the piece.
A timeless and reverent piece, perfect for display in your home, prayer space, or as a meaningful gift.
