About this piece
Saint John. This icon depicts the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John, the beloved disciple of Christ, holding the Gospel, a gesture that conveys divine wisdom, spiritual depth, and intimate communion with the Word of God. Traditionally, St. John is portrayed with a contemplative and gentle expression, symbolizing his deep love for Christ, theological insight, and spiritual purity, while reminding the faithful of God’s revelation through divine truth and grace. This sacred image invites contemplation, prayer, veneration, and spiritual connection.
This Saint John icon is carefully glued onto solid hardwood and sealed under a smooth, glossy epoxy resin, resulting in a vibrant finish. Once set, each piece is trimmed to size, sanded to perfection, and finished with a high-quality wood treatment oil that enhances the natural beauty. Available in two exquisite wood types—African Padauk and Black Walnut—and in three sizes, each piece carries its own unique tone and presence.
Since each icon is individually crafted by hand, subtle variations in size and tone may occur. The artisanal process ensures each piece is unique, adding to its authentic character and charm. All available sizes feature a uniform thickness of 2.5 cm.
A timeless and reverent piece, perfect for display in your home, prayer space, or as a meaningful gift.
